Pictures to come eventually.
A digital picture frame (DPF) made as a birthday present. It uses a Sony 5" PSOne screen (what else? It's simply the best!) and a Sony Cybershot digital camera. I dislike today's Sony on all corporate, consumer, and product levels, but their older products are quality. It originally ran off of a Sandisk Digital Photo Viewer, which was superior to the camera for this application, but it mysteriously broke and now displays a screen full of "...333333333333333...."
Digital Pictures Frames are simple in concept. They take an input source (in this case a standardized A/V 1/4" jack) and process that signal, displaying it on a screen. Usually, the pictures run as a slide-show. Mine runs off the camera, and has the option of slide-show, in addition to normal camera functions like zooming and video playback. It also helps to browse pictures and menus without the camera's minuscule 1.5" screen.
For some reason, the camera doesn't like running from a 2.9V 1.5A (max) source. It may be over-current tripping an IC fuse (which exists on this model), but it will not co-operate with me. If I come up with a solution, I will try to unify the power source. Otherwise, I will leave it as-is.
This project may be revisited in the future, as it is not currently up to my standards. Without a unified power source, the camera will be running off batteries, and as such it can not be left to sit in the background of a room slide-show...ing... away.
